Soccer Works And Gets Children Off Drugs

Children will stop taking drugs to get on a soccer team and keep their uniforms and play.  Soccer is very powerful because children get a chance to be seen by adults doing something they approve of.  Children need the eyes and words of adults and by playing soccer they gain self esteem and approval.  Please help us make it possible for the poor children of Intibuca to play soccer

Welcome To Soccer For Life In Honduras Today

These Are The Children Of Honduras We Help Through Your Donations of Soccer Gear and Funds To Ship To Honduras

While we are willing to provide poor communities, church groups, indigenous villages  with a complete set of uniforms consisting of 16  soccer shirts, 16 pairs of soccer shorts and 16 pair of soccer socks, we do want something in return. The kids in the States that collected these items worked hard. Some of them set up collection boxes, others went from door to door and other organized the materials, spending hours sorting them, washing them and getting them ready to come to Honduras. In return for these uniforms we ask the following from each group:

A. Organize a day for a concurso where we will bring additional soccer shirts, balls, shinguards for a competition of all the kids: This will enable children who are not on the team that the uniforms are donated for to participate. It also permits girls to enter and win balls and other items.

Here are the components of a Donation Concurso:

B. Prepare a small plot of land for  use in planting trees and/or other plants that I want your group to grow—this is the environmental part of Soccer For Life’s Mission

C. Care for the plot and the plants

D. Collect ornamental plants from the forest and or your yards (ask your mom’s permission first). These will be planted around the plot to beautify it.

These youth need to know they must do something in exchange for what they get in life. Because they are now actively involved as well, when both parties participate it is a complete transaction. That makes it a win win proposition that builds self esteem because these youth know they have something to give.
