E)  Development of the Turismo En El Camino Lenca Program

The Turismo En El Camino Lenca Is A Grassroots Tourism Cluster Among The Lenca Indians of Western Honduras.

F)  The Healing Through Tourism Way School

Healing Through Tourism is a new discipline being developed in the land of the first people of Honduras, the Lenca Indians.  This form of tourism is designed to create healing spaces within a land that is virtually undeveloped.  Here in the land of the Lencas, we are working side by side with indigenous people to create healing spaces on their lands as a WinWin tourism approach. By facilitating sustainable tourism on their lands we will generate income for them at the same time they welcome and heal people whose lives are frazzled, hurried and filled with stress and tension.  This school is a residential school but much of the learning will take place in the mountain aldeas and small communities.

This  residential school is for those who seek to heal the earth and others through the creation of tourism activities that heal.  Our world is in need of healing and you can create spaces in our world where people can come and find the peace, the tranquility, the connection with nature, the self esteem building experiences that rebuild their mind, body and spirit.  Come and learn to be a Tourism Healer in the land of the Lencas.

G)   Honduras Volunteer Adventure Projects

In order for tourism to be win-win, those who travel and have energizing and potentiating experiences need to give something back.  Something back to their host country, something back to the land and most of all something back to the people who share that place with them.  Those who welcome you are often so poor they cannot find enough food to eat.  Often children smile at you in the streets and make you feel good.  You take their photo back home and get pleasure again. Yet those who have created that ambiance you enjoy are hungry, often homeless and many times extremely poor.  We would not be able to develop tourism in a country like Honduras if we did not contribute to the needs of its people and its lands.  That is why volunteering is so powerful.  And since these projects offer pleasureable experiences, growth experiences, even empowering experiences, your giving back simply adds more to the experience.

You are invited to come to Honduras and experience the incredible beauty of this land.  But you are also invited to include a volunteer experience as well.  Our Spanish language and English language programs offer you the opportunity to include volunteering whether it be coaching soccer or teaching English or helping to develop the Tourism in el Camino Lenca program. You will gain more than you give.

Welcome to the most empowering experience of your life.

H) AIC Sustainable Development Center

You can't have sustainable tourism without sustainable businesses to support your tourism projects. That means local businesses need to be supported, assisted and guided to become sustainable.  That means stimulating the growth of trees like Leucaena, plants like kenaf, the support for canewood and handicraft businesses. It means teaching sustainable development concepts, helping businesses develop business and marketing plans.  It means developing websites for local businesses and teaching them about organic gardening to provide healthy food for tourists.  It means supporting energy conservation and supporting the development of renewable energy products. It means helping businesses export so they grow in a sustainable fashion.  It means getting involved in Free Trade and supporting shade grown coffee.  It means assisting small farmers in developing consortiums. It means community building, and it means building local and small scale industries that do not pollute. It means helping communities develop energy farming and carbon farming.  It means doing everything we at AIC can do to create sustainable local economies.  We are here to serve all of the people of rural communites and small cities in develop sustainably.  It means working as a virtual consultant and assisting local consultants in providing services within their countries.  It means finding ways to support the financing needs of sustainable businesses.  We at AIC are here to serve you.  Contact us at honducopa@yahoo.com for information.

A Message from the Founders

Welcome to our learning center.  The sharing of knowledge, the interaction between people of more than one culture, the learning of other languages is our hope for survival on our planet. Everywhere we see conflict.  Ethnic cleansing. Race wars.  Intertribal warfare.  We see one ethnic group try to prevent other groups from being educated.  As our planet increases it number of people, this will become infinitely more dangerous if we do not find a way to co exist with those who are different from us.

Our only hope is communication.  Finding out about how others live. Seeing them in their homes and understanding that they too are part of a family. Understanding their languages, learning to talk with them and share who you are.  Having WinWin Tourism experiences.  Connecting into a world community.

We know that we are by nature organisms that bond together in groups.  It has been our survival since the beginning of our development as intelligent beings. But these old ways, ways I call negative Mind Clonishness.  Negative Mind Clonishness includes a spectrum of negative energy directed from one group to another simply because they are different from us.  These ideas are cloned from one mind to another,  transferred across generations through teaching in the home and school.

If we do not gain control of these ideas, passed down to each of us from the Pleistocene, they will lead to our ultimate destruction as a species. In effect, our planet is in need of healing.  Our planet itself is reeling from our internecine warfare, our selfish desires to control and rule.  Yet we are intelligent beings. We can stop moving on a flow of consciousness and take volitional control of our lives and our actions.  If we are to heal our planet, if we are to survive, if we are to create a better life, we must gain control of ourselves.

It is time for a new way of life a way of life based on eliminating the negative Mind Clonishness of the past and moving toward Positive Mind Clonishness which is acceptance of "those others" who may look different, act different, dress different, talk different, even think different.  In order to do this, we need to understand them.  To understand others we must learn to communicate with them.  All of the programs of the Asociación Intibucana de Comunicación are designed to enable us to learn the Tourism skills needed to meet the challenges that face us all in the 21 Century. I believe we will make the intelligent choice to take control of our minds, change our inner beliefs about "those others", and begin to heal our world.

The Asociación Intibucana de Comunicación are being developed to be a key part of this new healing experience, the change in consciousness we need to survive.  Welcome to the new world of Healing through Culture Experiential Tourism.

Our Mission Statement

The Asociación Intibucana de Comunicación (AIC) provides language travel, tourism experiences, volunteer experiences and tourism training in Honduras.  It is a Honduran organization focused on sustainable development in Honduras through tourism. AIC has created a new way of learning how to develop what we call "The Perfect Tourism Experience" based on our Win-Win marketing principles. We see tourism as a form of healing and that is why we call our programs "Healing Through Tourism". AIC is committed to helping people grow, move from being culture bound to become culture experiential and grow as they become free to share our world, our knowledge, our life experience with the people in Honduras who host them.  We seek to participate in tree planting, youth development and a wide variety of empowering, self esteem building and life healing experiences.  Welcome to our Healing Through Tourism world.
